Your Questions, Tenderly Answered
We understand that choosing an enrichment program is a journey of the heart. This guide is here to walk with you through the common curiosities of our collective life, from our rhythms in the garden to our admissions process.
Daily Rhythm
Is this a drop-off program
Yes. Children stay for the full morning after a gentle arrival. While we stay in close touch with families, the rhythm is led by the caregiver and our small group together. We ask that breakfast is enjoyed at home first. During our 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. window, we provide an organic snack and a simple, nourishing seasonal lunch to fuel their play.
Do the children take naps during the day
Since we finish at 1:00 p.m., we do not have a formal nap time. However, we intentionally weave in quiet, restful moments with soft music and stories so children can reset before heading home for their afternoon rest. This slow pace helps keep our environment peaceful and respectful of each child's natural energy levels.
Is potty training a requirement
No. Children do not need to be fully potty trained to join our collective. We are happy to gently support potty learning as part of your child’s day, provided we are partnering with you on a shared plan. Our approach is always calm, encouraging, and respectful of each child's unique pace and development.
How is faith woven into your mornings
Our faith is shared naturally through morning prayers, songs of gratitude, and quiet stories of God's goodness. We focus on nurturing the fruits of the Spirit—kindness, patience, and joy—during our time in the garden and home.
Enrollment Information
When are applications accepted for upcoming seasons?
Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Our main enrollment cycle begins each spring for the autumn term. We invite you to contact us for a warm visit before settling into our shared rhythms.
What are the age guidelines for your enrichment program?”
Nourished Child Collective is designed for children in the early childhood years, from toddlers through age 6. Enrollment is considered individually to ensure each child is a wonderful fit for our program and rhythm.
Are specific records necessary for my child to begin?
Once your child is accepted, we’ll walk you through a simple set of forms so they can begin. You’ll complete the state-required paperwork, share emergency contact information, and provide your child’s immunization records. We’ll guide you step by step so nothing feels overwhelming.
Is a waiting list available when the group is full?
We do keep a quiet interest list for our small collective. Families on this list are the first to hear about seasonal gatherings or when a rare space becomes available in our home.
Logistics & Policies
What is the daily schedule for the children?
Our mornings follow a gentle, home-centered rhythm. We begin with a slow welcome and morning prayer, followed by seasonal enrichment activities like sourdough baking, gardening, or nature walks. The morning concludes with a shared organic snack around our table.
How are tuition payments handled?
Tuition is billed monthly to simplify the process for families. We accept digital payments for ease of use, ensuring our focus remains on the children and the soil. Specific tuition details are shared during our parent consultation visits.
What is your cancellation or withdrawal policy?
We understand that life transitions happen. We ask for a 30-day notice for any withdrawals. This allows us to maintain the stability of our small, intentional community and offer the space to another family seeking our natural enrichment.
Do you provide snacks or meals?
Yes, we provide seasonal, organic, and locally sourced snacks as part of our daily rhythm. Baking bread and preparing fresh produce from our garden is an integral part of the learning experience for the children.
Values & Philosophy
What does 'faith-rooted' mean for your program?
We integrate gentle Christian values into our daily rhythms. This means beginning our mornings with a short prayer or song of gratitude and encouraging the fruits of the Spirit—like kindness, patience, and joy—in all our interactions.
How do you define the 'homestead-inspired' experience?
Childhood is the time for slow, meaningful work. We spend our time baking fresh bread, tending our garden, and caring for the natural world around us. These activities help children develop a sense of rhythm and purpose in their daily lives.
How do you foster community among families?
We believe in the 'collective' part of our name. We host seasonal gatherings and intentional parent mornings, creating space for families in the Santa Ynez Valley to build deep, lasting connections with one another.
